Let your kids write your shopping list

If your kids are learning letters and words, let's ask them to write down the shopping list. Give them a pen and paper, then you read the list for them to write down. You can help them to correct the paper as well as giving something as the reward. The gifts could be fruit, milk, stationery which are easily found at the supermarket.

If your kids are below school age, you can help them in learning new words by playing a words-to-pictures game. Let’s print pictures of grocery that your family usually buy at the supermarket, along with some pieces with their written names. You can give your kids some instruction by showing them which one should be matched. After that, you mix them all and let your kid do the matching. This is a very good and fun way to improve your children's memory and teach them how to write.

Let your kids find promotions

When the shopping list is finished, the next challenge is finding deals/promotions. This activity is beneficial to busy parents who are overloaded with chores. It’s also a good method to teach your kids about the value of savings. You can find Big C’s latest promotions on our website or via paper catalogs at the stores’ entrances. And remember to reward if your kids do a good job!

Turn your shopping trip into “an adventure”

Children love to participate in "adventures" and discover mysterious things. When going to the supermarket, you are encouraged to play funny games with them. For example: Let’s see who has the right choice: “Where is the spice area? The left or right?”, “Who will find the "Red Hand" - “The price is always low” of Big C first?”, “Who will find daddy’s favorite noodles first?”, “How much is this product cheaper than the other?”,... All the funny challenges will not make your kids bored when shopping with family. Attractive rewards (not necessarily in kind) are also very effective.

If you are parents and have trouble with entertaining your children during the shopping trip, let’s try these tips above. These tips, with some adjustments, can also be adapted in other purposes such as house cleaning, bath time, mealtime, etc.
